A Gendarme took this UFO picture on June 6, 1975 near Revigny Sur Ornain at about 09:30 P.M. At this moment the object was hovering above the ground. Gendarmerie is the military police in France.

I initially wrote that it was taken by a gendarmerie patrol, because this is what was said in the ufology literature, but a reader informed me that the photographer, indeed a gendarme, was actually alone, he had gone to the country to take pictures when he took this image and the following one.
The second photograph by the Gendarme on June 6, 1975 near Revigny sur Ornain. This one was shot at the time when the phenomenon left the ground and shot up to the sky. No simple explanation has been found since for the reported events and the confirming photographs.
