UFO or satellite debris recovered by US, Orocue, Columbia, 1968:

The story:

On February 12, 1968 in Orocue, Columbia, 1968, residents reported three loud explosions where a disc-shaped, metallic-looking object had been only moments before. Author Kevin Randle reports, in his History of UFO Crashes, that they began a search of an area where they had seen debris falling. They found a large, lightweight, and very hard piece of metal. Attempts to cut it for transport failed, so they shipped it in one piece to Bogota. There, the American attaché claimed that the metal was from a spacecraft of some kind. When struck with a hammer, the metal seemed to magnify the sound. Later statements from U.S. officials claimed that the debris came from the re-entry of a U.S. satellite.
