The Belgium flap:

Stories and opinions:

A reader of my Website wrote the following on September 17, 2002, relating to the UFO wave which took place over Belgium particularly in 1989-1990.

Note: I publish this text for information; the fact that I publish it does not imply that I agree or disagree with all or part of the ideas it contains.

I don't remember much of the wave, I was a young teenager at the time of the events and in France the TV spoke very little about it except to make fun of Belgians and Belgian jokes...

I only became interested in it recently because before (for almost a decade) I believed that it was the F-117 which was at the origin of the Belgian wave since those who spoke about it most often in France (Science et Vie) deliberately or unconsciously distorted the observations to make them correspond to conventional airplanes and omitted all those details which lead to think that what has flown over Belgium is not at all conventional.

As for Marc Hallet and his mates, I discovered through the internet the aggressiveness they used to convince us and to show us that the origin of the Belgian wave was conventional planes. On a mailing list I was able to meet one of his disciples where any discussion is almost impossible with him, he does not hesitate to slander SOBEPS and brought false proofs or voluntary distortions to the elements of the observations of the Belgian wave, he knows very well how to stir up trouble. The aim is to deny and make people believe that there has never been anything in Belgium and in a few decades there will never have been sightings and Belgian waves. Fortunately, aware of this danger, SOBEPS has decided to archive all its testimonies and investigations.

Unfortunately I feel that the Belgian wave will become in some time more controversial than the Roswell crash itself whereas the file is more solid than the latter (unlike Roswell where one can easily deny the testimonies and the events, we cannot deny the observations in Belgium except with the help of time which dilutes the memories of the public and the media), not to mention the collective amnesia which is gradually plunging Belgium and France thanks to Marc Hallet and his followers.
