SEPTEMBER 15, 1978, DELANO, TENNESSEE, USA, A WOMAN:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

It was reportedly said in the International UFO Reporter that on September 15, 1978, in Delano, Tennessee, USA, at 02:30 a.m., a 31-year-old woman who was in her bed awaken for 30 minutes had a "funny" feeling that urged her to look outside.

At the south window, looking at the fields of this rural area, she reportedly saw the bright moon shining in a clear sky, and also in sky, in the south-west, vaguely, a silent object of elongated shape with red and pink lights as if it were on fire, of an angular size slightly smaller than the moon.

She reportedly saw two normal men in white suit approximately 100 yards of the window, she did not see details as it was too dark. They moved towards the house, stopped, and went away.

The object then came quickly, coming very near, then left quickly, going up towards the west.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Delano, Tennessee, on September 15, 1978, at 0230 a.m., a 31-year old woman was lying in bed awake when she suddenly felt compelled to look outside, over a nearby field she could see a vaguely outlined long shape red and pink in color. It was completely silent. She also saw two normal men of average height dressed in white suits standing about 100 yards from the window. They walked towards the house but then turned back.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "IUR Vol. 4 #3."

[Ref. ni1:] "THE NICAP WEBSITE":

The website indicates that on September 15, 1978, in Delano, Tennessee, at 02:30 a.m., a 31-year-old woman "was lying in bed awake for 30 minutes when 'funny' feeling made her look outside. She stood at the south window looking out at fields of this rural area and saw bright moon in clear sky. Also saw vaguely, object with lights in a long shape, red and pink as if on fire in SW sky. Angular size was somewhat less than moon's. No sound . Two 'normal' men dressed in white suits could be seen about 100 yards from window, too dark for details They started for the house, but then stopped and turned back. The UFO came in fast at this point and came very close to ground then left very fast climbing to the West."

The source is indicated as "IUR,4,1".

[Ref. ud1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

A 31-year old woman was lying in bed awake when she suddenly felt compelled to look outside, over a nearby field she could see a vaguely outlined long shape red and pink in color. It was completely silent. She also saw two normal men of average height dressed in white suits standing about 100 yards from the window. They walked towards the house but then turned back.

The sources are indicated as Webb, David, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports; Rosales, Albert, Humanoid Sighting Reports Database.

Points to consider:

In addition to the weaknesses of the case indicated in the List of Issues below, I hardly see much strangeness in the report: the UFO, practically not described, could be just anything, the characters seen at 100 meters as looking like normal men were probably normal men, and the relationship between these men and the UFO is nothing obvious.

List of issues:
