Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Italian ufology source indicate that in Tortoreto, in the Abruzzi, Italy, at the end of August 1978, at 01:00 in the night, four young women of San Egidio were returning home by car. While two slept in the back seat the two in the front saw a luminous white sphere which went down quickly on a hillock close to an abandoned colonial house.

The two realized that the phenomenon was strange. Awakening the other two women, they stopped the vehicle, quickly came out and the four managed to observe close to the sphere - or inside the sphere in a later version - three characters dressed in diving-suits of white color, like that of the astronauts, and white helmets.

The three beings had the same size than the witnesses. They moved with small steps close to the sphere, holding the arms a bit detached from the bust, they seemed interested by the ground and acted independently from each other.

During nearly one hour the UFO lit the hill, one source specifying that it emitted a a revolving light that changed from white to red then green. Later the object took off emitting a bright flash, "apparently" leaving the three occupants on the ground.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Tortoreto, Italy, on August 1978, at 0100 a.m., four women were returning home in a car and while two slept in the back seat the two in the front watched a brilliant white globe shaped object land on a nearby hill. Awakening the other two women, the witnesses stopped the vehicle. Stepping out of the car they observed three figures moving inside the object. The figures wore white coveralls and helmets and seemed to move in small jumps. The area around the object was illuminated in a revolving light that changed from white to red then green. Later the object took off emitting a bright flash.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Maurizio Verga 'Itacat'".

The website indicates that in August 1978, 01:00, at Tortoreto, Italy, a white globe descended over a abandoned house. Three figures of silhouetted beings were seen inside. There were four witnesses in a residential area for over 60 minutes.
