MAY 1978, ATHENS, ATTICA, GREECE, YANNIS K.:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Greek ufologist Thanassis reported in 1989 that on 7 Lazarinou street, New Filothei neighborhood in Athens, Greece, on May 1978, at about 2 a.m., Yannis K., 17-year-old, suddenly woke up and was unable to move.

He then saw three human like figures approaching his bed from the balcony area. The three persons came closer and one of them sat on the bed.

The person that remained standing was a female with bushy hair, wearing a blouse with skirt. The second person was a tall heavy set man with short hair, he wore black gloves and a black close necked top, the third was a young blond haired girl, tall and with unnatural long fingers. She wore a black blouse and skirt.

The young girl removed her blouse, she wore no bra, then engaged in sexual intercourse with the boy.

Later the girl dressed and all three went out an apparently closed balcony door.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Athens, Greece, on May 1978, at 0200 a.m., the 17-year old witness suddenly woke up and was unable to move. The young girl removed her blouse then engaged in sexual intercourse with the witness. Later the girl dressed and all three went out an apparently closed balcony door.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Thanassis Vembos, Strange Magazine #2."

[Ref. tv1:] THANASSIS VEMBOS:

Site: 7 Lazarinou st, New Filothei neighborhood, Athens.

Date: May 1978.

Time: about 2 am

Witness: Yannis K. (17)

The witness was asleep. Suddenly he awoke and saw 3 people coming towards his bed from the side of the balcony door (the apartment was in the 2nd floor). The room was dimly lit from the outside lamp posts. Two of them were women, one was man. The latter and one woman sat on his bed, the other woman remained standing. This one was 1.80 m, had bushy hair, and was wearing a blouse and a maxi skirt. The man had short hair, was over 2 m tall, broad chested and was wearing black gloves, and black turtleneck blouse. The third woman was 1.80 m, with extremely long fingers, was younger than the other and was wearing black blouse and skirt. As she sat on the bed, she started undressing. She was not wearing a bra. The next thing that the witness remembered was that both him and the woman were naked. Then they had sex. After that he remembered that the woman was dressed and that the strange trio went out from the balcony door (which was most probably closed). The witness felt paralyzed during the incident. The next days there were problems with the telephone line.

Points to consider:

Here is a case which does not have anything of an encounter "humanoids"; humans, clearly! No UFO nor paranormal phenomena in the plot either.

Although hypnagogic experiences are now quite understood in the medical literature on non-pathological sleep disorders and sleep phenomena, although there are knowledgeable ufologists who understand this phenomenon, many other ufologists are still unable to identify such causes when they apply and still believe such experiences are alien encounters or alien abductions.

I provide a few references among dozens about the topic of hypnagogic hallucination and sleep paralysis:

Classic signs of the hypnagogic hallucination are apparent in this case. The witness is alseep when the experience begins. The real stimulus which could have started the experience was possibly rwlated to the street lights outside. The "sleep paralysis" is there. The absurd elements, disconnected from reality are there: the three people enter the bedroom by the balcony of the 2nd floor, a balcony which we are told was probably closed; and it is indeed in dreams that this kind of thing do not matter. Continuity is not clear, we get "the next thing he remembered", the classically oniric absence of continuity, that some ufologists believe means a "missing time". UFO and aliens are clearly absent, the young man was probably not interested i that at all, on the other hand he was at an age where there is nothing amazing that the oniric theme was erotic.
