Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Villa Mercedes, San Luis, Argentina, on May 4, 1978, at an unknown time, soon after a blinding blue light caused a road accident near this city, about 100 people saw 50 UFOs flying above Villa Mercedes. Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Tasmanian UFO Report 1983, quoting "Le Soir" Belgium March 30 1982."

The website indicates that on 4 May 1978 at 22:00 in Villa Mercedes, Argentina, "At least 50 greenish-blue UFOs appeared in sky shortly after 2200 in midst of dazzling light, perfectly executed series of maneuvers--broke into two formations then rejoined, disappeared from view 0000."

And: "Soon after a blinding blue light caused a road accident near Villa Mercedes, San Luis province, Argentina about 100 city residents saw 50 greenish-blue UFOs flying over the city. In the midst of a dazzling light, they perfectly executed a series of maneuvers: they broke into two formations and then rejoined, and then they disappeared from view. Shortly after that some people reported that they had witnessed the landing of a saucer-shaped craft nearby. A being dressed in a green uniform emerged from the craft for a short while."

And: "Unusual objects were sighted, that had unconventional appearance and performance. More than 50 blue-green lights were observed by several witnesses in a city for two hours."

And: "Soon after a blinding blue light caused a road accident near this city, about 100 people saw 50 UFOs flying above Villa Mercedes. Shortly after, some people declared that they witnessed, also near Villa Mercedes, the landing of a saucer shaped craft out of which came out a being dressed in a green suit. No other information."

Points to consider:

Whereas the alleged observation of 50 UFOs from Villa Mercedes and in the sector was largely mentioned in ufological literature and the press (for example the La Nouvelle République des Pyrénées for May 12, 1978, Var Matin République for May 15, 1978, I found no source for the landing and the green man.
