APRIL 25, 1978, STRATFORD, ONTARIO, CANADA, PAT DE LA FRANIER:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

According to a 1997 UFO book, in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, on April 25, 1978, in the afternoon, ufologist Pat De La Franier was at his office going over some UFO sighting reports he wanted to present on a local UFO program, when there was a sudden knock at the door.

Usually he could hear everyone coming in the main door, being admitted, and then walking down the hall but this knock came "from nowhere". When he opened the door, there was a very odd-looking man standing there, dressed entirely in black, about 5 ft 6 inches tall, extremely thin, with a slightly enlarged head. His hair was just nubs, as if he had been completely shaved and the hair was just growing back. His skin had a strange olive hue. His lips were very thin, and his cheeks were so sunken in that they looked like they were pinned on the inside. His eyes were dark and extremely long; they literally wrapped around his temples. La Franier stated that he had never seen eyes like that, and that "they just bored into me".

The stranger just stood there staring at La Franier, who did not move, fixated on his eyes and feling "intruded upon on a mental level".

After a minute, the stranger spoke, asking "Would you like a photograph of your family?" His voice was very strange, low and hesitant as if this man had absolutely no conception of how to speak, how to put a sentence together. His English was impeccable, but he was struggling to get through the sentence.

La Franier answered that he did not need any more pictures, and the stranger stepped back, "turned and just disappeared". Later La Franier discovered that many of his files and papers were missing.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, on April 25, 1978, in the afternoon, UFO Researcher, Pat De La Franier was at his office going over some detailed UFO reports he wanted to present on a local UFO program when there was a sudden knock at the door. Now, where his office is located, he could hear everyone coming in the main door, being admitted, and then walking down the hall. But this knock came from nowhere, and when he opened the door, there was a very odd-looking man standing there. He was dressed entirely in black. He was about 5 ft 6 inches tall, extremely thin, with a slightly enlarged head. La Franier stated that he had never seen eyes like that, "They just bored into me". The stranger just stood there staring at the witness, who did not move. La Franier was fixated on his eyes and he felt intruded upon on a mental level. Finally, after a full minute, he spoke. "Would you like a photograph of your family?" It was a strange question, and his voice was very strange, too. It was low and hesitant as if this man had absolutely no conception of how to speak, how to put a sentence together. His English was impeccable, but he was struggling to get through the sentence. La Franier said no that he did not need any more pictures. And with that the stranger stepped back, turned and just disappeared. The man was completely gone, later La Franier discovered that many of his files and papers were missing.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Susan Michaels, 'Sightings: UFOs'."

April 25

1978 - Later that same afternoon [than a case in Italy] UFO investigator Pat De La Franier was in his office in Stratford, Ontario going over some UFO reports when there was a sudden knock at the door. Where his office is located he could ordinarily hear everyone coming through the main door when admitted through the security door, and then hear their footsteps walking down the hall. But this knock came abruptly, and when he opened the door there was a very odd-looking man standing there. He was dressed entirely in black. He was about five and a half feet tall, extremely thin, with a somewhat unusually large head. His hair looked like it had been completely shaved and the hair was just growing back. His skin had an unusual olive hue. His lips were very thin and his cheeks were sunken in. His eyes were dark and so elongated that they literally wrapped around his temples. La Franier had never seen eyes like that, "They just bored into me". The stranger just stood there staring at him. La Franier was fixated by his eyes and he felt somehow intruded upon on a mental level. After a full minute the man spoke. "Would you like a photograph of your family?" It was a strange question, and his voice was very strange, too. It was low and hesitant as if this man had absolutely a poor conception of how to put a sentence together. The English was flawless, but he struggle to get through the sentence. La Franier said no, he did not need any more pictures. And with that the stranger stepped back, turned and just disappeared. The man was completely gone. Later La Franier discovered that many of his papers were missing. (Source: Albert S. Rosales, Humanoid Contact Database, citing Susan Michaels, Sightings: UFOs).

Points to consider:

Pat de La Franier was the Director of the "Stratford UFO Research Team".

Although the witness is a ufologist, I do not find any publication where he reported this story in person, nor do a find an investigation report. I also do not find the least publication or opinion allowing to get some idea about what kind of person he was, his reliability, credibility.
