APRIL 6, 1974, KITAMI CITY, HOKKAIDO, JAPAN, YOSHIRO FUJIWARA:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

A letter received from a Japanese by an American UFO books reseller tells that in Kitami, island of Hokkaido, Japan, on April 6, 1974, at 3 a.m., Yoshihiro Fujiwara, farmer, 28, was suddenly awaked by the continuous barking of his dog and knocks at the door of his house.

Intrigued, he went to the door, opened, and at his great amazement, he saw a strange humanoid figure, one meter tall, or in other version a "starfish-like" entity, lit by the moonlight. The creature allegedly raised an arm and a powerful hot draught struck the area. Frightened, Yoshihiro is said to have panicked and run to take refuge in his bedroom.

From there, intrigued, he is said to have observed through the window a 1.50 meters high and 8 meters diameter flying saucer floating a few meters above the ground, emitting rays of orange color.

A moment later, the young man found himself literally absorbed in the object.

Coming back to his senses, Yoshihiro found himself lying on the floor of the saucer. Around him were two small beings with a skin he described as toad-like, triangular slanted eyes, and a strange clothing that covered them completely. They had a small antenna on their head which emitted strange gleams.

One of the extraterrestrials calmed him down by telling: "No danger. We promise to release you close to your house." Inside the disc, were a cabin of parallelepiped shape that could receive an extraterrestrial, lamps along the walls, a large mask with a mysterious writing which reminded him a little of the Japanese writing, a seat, air vents. The interior of the saucer was dark blue, and a nauseous air filled it up completely.

At approximately 04:30, the disc landed within 3 kilometers of Fujiwara's house and noticing that a small door was half-opened, he jumped outside, and asked for hospitality at a nearby house.

The following evening, he started to complain about a strong pain in the ears and a strange heat at his fingertips, and his fingers "wanted to write". He took paper and "unconsciously", he started to trace strange and unintelligible hieroglyphs and a message commanding: "When the disc lands on the mountain, you will come and board by yourself."

Since that day, he claims to be able to communicate telepathically with the space visitors, and it seems he also claimed that he can bend spoon psychically.

In the evenings of April 8th and April 10th, he was again in the saucer. In the evening of the 13th, he allegedly flew to the Moon and Jupiter.

He handed as proof a stone from the Moon; which was examined at the laboratory of the University of Studies of Engineering of Kitami and found to be a limestone coming from stalactites of a cave of the Kitami area.

Narratives:

[Ref. bh1:] ROBERT E. BARTHOLOMEW AND GEORGE S. HOWARD:

The authors indicate that on April 6, 1974, in Kitami City, Japan, at 03:00 a.m., checking on his barking dog, Yoshiro Fujiwara claims to have seen a three-foot-tall "starfish" creature which held out an appendage, resulting in Fujiwara's being pulled about seventy feet off the ground and into a hovering object.

After passing out, he awoke to see two beings with toad-like skin and a bad odor holding him down. After being told not to be frightened, he remained panic-stricken. Soon the craft landed, and a door opened, and he left.

That same evening he was in mental contact with "spacemen."

Two evenings later, the beings returned in a craft, taking him around Earth twice and the moon once, and after the trip, he was found partially conscious on the ground.

During a later contact, he claims to have been taken to Jupiter and given a rock, but analysis showed it was limestone.

The authors indicate that the source is the copy of a letter stating details of the report by Junichi Takanashi for the Mutual UFO Network via Robert C. Girard, UFO book dealer, Scotia, N. Y.; and Caveat Emptor, for September-October 1974.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Kitami City, Hokkaido, Japan, on April 6, 1974, at 03:00 a.m., Yoshiro Fujiwara, a vegetable farmer, reported that in the early morning he went out to see why his dog was barking and encountered a creature "like a starfish" about 3 foot high.

When it extended an arm, the observer was sucked up from the ground into a UFO hovering overhead at about twice the height of a telephone pole. He lost consciousness, and came to find himself being held down by two of the creatures inside the object. He described them as having a toad like skin and said there was a foul odor. He was told not to be afraid but struggled; the craft came down to the ground, the door opened and he escaped.

On that same evening, he developed telepathic "contact" with the "spacemen," writing in the "space language." He was able to bent metal spoons. On the evening of April 8 he, again was visited by the UFO and was taken twice around the earth and once around the moon; he was later found semi conscious on the ground. A further contact was reported on April 15.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Jun Ichi Takanashi and Dick Hall.

[Ref. in1:] FOUND ON THE INTERNET:

In Kitami, island of Hokkaido, Japan, on April 6, 1974, at three in the morning, Yoshihiro Fujiwara, a 28 year-old farmer, was suddenly awaked by the continuous barking of his dog and knocks at the door of his house.

Intrigued, he goes to the door, opens it large, and at his great amazement, he sees a strange humanoid figure, one meter tall, lit by the moonlight. The creature allegedly raised an arm and, meanwhile, a powerful hot draught struck the area. Frightened, Yoshihiro is said to have panicked and run to take refuge in his bedroom.

From there, intrigued, he is said to have observed through the window a flying saucer, one meter and a half high, and of a diameter of eight meters, which floated a few meters above the ground, emitting rays of orange color. A moment later, the young man found himself literally absorbed in the object.

Coming back to his senses, Yoshihiro found himself lying on the floor of the UFO. Around him, two small characters with the body mottled like that of the toads, triangular slanted eyes, and strange clothes that covered them completely. They had a small antenna on their head which emitted strange gleams.

One of the extraterrestrials calmed down the abductee by telling him: "No danger. We promise to release you close to your house." Inside the disc, the Japanese noticed a cabin of parallelepiped shape that could receive an extraterrestrial, lamps along the walls, a large mask with a mysterious writing which reminded him a little Japanese writing, a seat, air vents. The interior of the saucer was dark blue, and a nauseous air filled it up completely.

At approximately 04:30, the disc landed within three kilometers of Fujiwara's house and at this moment, noticing that a small door was half-opened, he took advantage of that to jump outside. He asked for hospitality at a nearby house.

Since that day, he claims to be able to communicate telepathically with the space visitors. In the evenings of April 8th and April 10th, he again claims to have been on board the disc. In the evening of the 13th, he allegedly flew to the Moon and Jupiter.

And as proof of the hard to believe story, he reportedly brought back a stone from the Moon. This stone was examined at the laboratory of the University of Studies of Engineering of Kitami and resulted from that that it was nothing more than a limestone, coming from stalactites of a cave of the Kitami area.

Points to consider:

The whimsical-sounding story is apparently nothing more than what was written in some letter, with no further checking. It contains the typical claims of the alleged Western "contactees" with all the lore from the tour of the solar system and the false space rock naively handed as "proof", to automatic writing and spoon-bending.
