SEPTEMBER 1965, PEORIA, ILLINOIS, USA, J.A. COVOLO AND 5 TEENAGERS:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

A mystery magazine reportedin 1976 that in Peoria, Illinois, USA, on September 1965, in the evening, J. A. Covolo and 5 teenaged boys were loading a truck, and when they looked up, they saw a triangular object in the sky. It was about 60 feet wide, with lights 5 feet apart all along its edges, and was tilting gently from side to side. It seemed about a 0.5 miles away.

Covolo and the boys got into the truck and drove toward the object, arriving in the part of town called "the knolls." Here, they heard footsteps, then saw three oriental-looking "men-in-black", 6 feet tall, walking toward them.

Covolo reportedly said "They were huddled together, leaning slightly forward", and that they passed him so closely he could have touched them.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Peoria, Illinois, on September 1965, in the evening, J. A. Covolo and 5 teenaged boys, loading a truck, looked up to see a triangular object in the sky. About 60 ft wide, it had lights 5 ft apart all along its edges, and was tilting gently from side to side. It seemed about a half a mile away. Covolo and the boys got into the truck and drove toward the object, arriving in the part of town called "the knolls." Here they heard footsteps, then saw 3 oriental looking men in black, 6 ft tall, walking toward them. "They were huddled together, leaning slightly forward" and passed Covolo so closely he could have touched them.

Albert Rosales indicates as source Search Magazine Fall 1976.

[Ref. ud1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

The website indicates that in September 1965, in the evening in Peoria, Illinois, USA, there was a close encounter with a an unidentified craft and its occupants by six witnesses on a highway, one witness was named Covolo.

The source is indicated as Webb, David, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports.

Points to consider:

"Search Magazine", in the 1970's, was a sensationalist magazine publishing all sorts of claims with no great deal of verification.
