DECEMBER 1957, EL CAJON, CALIFORNIA, USA, EDMUND RUCKER:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

It seems that a saucerian magazine reported in 1958 that on December, 1957 at night, in El Cajon, California, USA, one Edmund Rucker was awakened by a roaring noise and saw a strange object land near his house.

The man allegedly said that "its windows were lighted, and I saw strange-looking heads there." An opening became visible and four creatures emerged, they had large heads, dome-like foreheads, and bulging eyeballs.

It is said that they "delivered a message to the witness in English, stating that they had philanthropic and scientific purposes."

Narratives:

[Ref. jv1:] JACQUES VALLEE:

In his catalogue of UFO landings, Jacques Vallée indicates that on December, 1957 at night in El Cajon, California, Edmund Rucker was awakened by a roaring noise and saw a strange object land near his house. "Its windows were lighted, and I saw strange-looking heads there." An opening became visible and four creatures emerged. They had large heads, dome-like foreheads, and bulging eyeballs. They delivered a message to the witness in English, stating that they had philanthropic and scientific purposes.

Vallée indicates that his source is "FS Jul., 58."

[Ref. bh1:] ROBERT E. BARTHOLOMEW AND GEORGE S. HOWARD:

The authors indicate that in December 1957, at night, in El Cajon, California, Edmund Rucker was awakened by a roaring sound and saw an object land near his house.

He saw four creatures with large heads through the lighted windows. When they emerged, he noticed they had domed foreheads and bulging eyes.

They communicated to him in English their philanthropic and scientific motives.

The authors indicate that their source is the Metempirical UFO Bulletin (MUFOB) 46, no. 12, Autumn 1978, 9, citing Flying Saucers Magazine of July 1958, this account appearing as part of Peter Rogerson's international catalogue of "type-1" UFO records.

Points to consider:

This meager and incomplete story found in a magazine known to occasionally make up the tales its readers wanted to hear has nothing to its credibility.
