Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

The UFO literature mentions the story without source information of an encounter in Porto Alegre, Brazil, on November 10, 1954: at an unspecified hour, an unnamed agronomist and his family were in a car and saw a disc-like object land.

They also saw two men of normal height with long hair and coverall-like clothes come out of it and walk towards the car with raised arms.

The frightened witnesses sped away, while the men were seen reentering the disc, which rose and flew off at a "vertiginous speed."

The well-known Brazilian ufologist mentions in a 1954 article two UFO landings in the Porto Alegre area in Brazil in November, 1954.

The authors indicate that in Porto Alegre, Brazil, on November 10, 1954, at an unknown hour, an agronomist and his family in their car saw a disc that was posed. Two men of normal height with long hair and coverall-like clothes, emerged and came toward the car with their arms raised. The frightened witnesses sped away, and saw the men reenter the disc, which rose and flew off at a vertiginous speed.

Jacques Vallée indicates that on November 10, 1954 close to Porto Alegre in Brazil, an agricultural engineer and his family saw a disc, from which two men of normal size with long hair and dressed of combinations came out. These men approached the car with their arms raised, but the witness who was frightened fled. Jacques Vallée indicates no source.

In his UFO landings catalogue, Jacques Vallée indicates that on November 10, 1954 Porto Alegre, Brazil, an agronomist and his family in their car saw a landed disk from which two men, normal in height, with long hair and coverall-like clothes, emerged and came toward the car with arms raised. As the frightened witnesses sped away, they saw the men reenter the disk, which rose and flew off at very great speed.

Vallée indicates that his source is Lor. I 42."

[Ref. gc1:] GORDON CREIGHTON:

Gordon Creighton indicates that on November 10, 1954, an agronomist of Porto Alegre, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, went for a drive by car with his family, and saw a disc posed on the ground, of which two men came out, apparently normal sized, with long hair and clothing resembling combinations.

These men approached the car with the arms raised above the head, but the agronomist, pushed by his wife and his daughter, accelerated and left the men behind. They saw them returning into the disc which rose in the sky "at a tremendous speed."

Gordon Creighton indicates that his source is The Great Flying Saucer Hoax by Coral Lorenzen.

The frightened witnesses sped away, and saw thee men reenter the disc, which rose and flew off at a dizzying speed.

Albert Rosales indicates that his source is Flying Saucer Occupants by Jim and Coral Lorenzen.

Points to consider:

With the lack of original sources, the sparse information and the probable absence of any investigation, the story does not stand as an impressive case.
