July 1947, Fishpool Hill, Herefordshire, U-K., Frank Handford and Mrs, Newman:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Peter Rogerson's INTCAT ufology catalog includes a case that would only be known from the information provided by the niece of witness Frank Handford:

In July 1947, late at night. at Fishpool Hill, Herefordshire, England, Frank Handford and his housekeeper Mrs. Newman were awoken by the barking of their dogs. Fearing intruders, they both went to investigate. Through the window overlooking their apple orchards, they saw a luminous dome-shaped object descending to the ground. From it emerged a ladder, down which three beings in silver suits came out.

The beings picked up apples and some turf and re-entered their craft.

The next day they found a large burned circle into the ground and scorching on a wicker gate. The police were called and they came with military personnel, who claimed that a search with Geiger counters revealed a high level of radiation, and warned the witnesses not to talk.
