1947? 1950? Chicago, Illinois, USA, a Presbyterian minister and his son:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

In 1978, US ufologist Len Stringfield published a book in which he reported on what a number of people told him regarding "UFO crashes", recoveries and cover-up operations.

He told that when he visited the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) in February 1975, he had an evening with Shem Larsen, president of the organization. During the conversation, they came to talk about "little men of Wright Patterson" - the Air Force base where, according to rumors, "crashed saucers2 would be sent.

Larsen told him that following one of his recent UFO lectures at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, he had been approached by a Presbyterian minister from Wisconsin, who might have be 35. This pastor confided to him the strange adventure that had happened to him when, as a young man, he had visited with his father, also a minister, the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry:

Having moved away from the main entrance, they had lost their way in a labyrinth of corridors. Looking fo the exit, they had entered a room where there was a large box covered with glass. Having glanced at it, they had a shock because the box contained a number of bodies of small humanoids.

The minister's father was immediately grabbed by several men and forcibly taken to another room. He had been detained for some time and forced to sign papers before he was authorized to leave the museum.

Much later, on his death bed, the father had revealed to his son the whole affair so long held secret.

Larsen mentioned a coincidence that he thought was part of the mystery: during his war years at the Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC), he had befriended a lawyer who worked for the government. Years went by without his friend telling him about the confidential nature of his work, although he knew that Larsen was working at the CIC.

Much later, Larsen, meeting this old friend of his at a mundane meeting, came to talk about his wartime experiences at the CIC. He then learned with amazement that his friend had served at the same time as him at the Security Intelligence Corps (SIC), and also learned that his friend's office in Chicago was at the Museum of Science and Industry.

Narratives:

[Ref. ls1:] LEONARD H. STRINGFIELD:

Contrary to what happens to UFOs, the existence of the occupants cannot be proven with certainty; there is no radar to confirm the damage they do on the earth, no authentic photography showing them at the porthole of a UFO or in the opening of a door. No pilot with sure eye has ever seen one. Yet, everyone in the research knows that the occupant - humanoid or animal, found dead or captured alive - would be the definitive proof of the alien origin of UFOs. If there really are hidden bodies, this fact, more than any other, must be kept secret - ABOVE/TOP/ SECRET.

When I visited the Center for UFO Studies in February 1975, I had an evening with Shem Larsen, president of the organization. During the conversation, we came to talk about "little men of Wright Patterson". "I have a story worth it," says Larsen.

Following one of his recent UFO lectures at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, Larsen was approached by a Presbyterian minister from Wisconsin, who might have be thirty-five years old. The pastor confided to him the strange adventure that had happened to him when, as a young man, he had visited with his father, also a minister, the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. Having moved away from the main entrance, they had lost their way in a labyrinth of corridors. Looking fo the exit, they had entered a room where there was a large box covered with glass. Having glanced at it, they had a shock: the box contained a number of bodies of small humanoids. The minister's father was immediately grabbed by several men and forcibly taken to another room. He had been detained for some time and forced to sign papers before he was authorized to leave the museum.

Much later, on his death bed, he had revealed to his son the whole affair so long held secret.

Second part of the mystery: Larsen had made an intimate friend during his war years at the CIC (1). He was a lawyer who worked for the government. Years went by without his friend telling him about the confidential nature of his work, although he knew that Larsen was working at the CIC.

Much later, Larsen, meeting his old friend at a mundane meeting, came to talk about his wartime experiences at the CIC. He then learned with amazement that his friend had served at the same time as him at the SIC (2)! He also learned that his friend's office in Chicago was at the Museum of Science and Industry!

The Age Of Arnold 1947-1952

The summer of 1947 saw the "flying saucer" explode into public view for the first time. Since there was no general memory of strange things in the sky the "flying saucer" seemed brand new. But the only thing that was new was the unprecedented amount of publicity given to the subject. By the end of the summer more than 90% of the American people knew about the "flying saucers" and that level of recognition has scarcely changed over the last four decades! Today it is obvious that most of our children fully believe in the existence of "extra-terrestrial life," from E.T. to Alien. Are we "fully prepared?"

Sherm Larson, member of Counter Intelligence Corps and first president of CUFOS, tells Leonard Stringfield (ex-Army intelligence) that the Security Intelligence Corps had its headquarters there during WWII.

[Ref. gm11:] GARETH J. EDWAY:

1950? : An unnamed Presbyterian minister and his young son, visiting the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, became lost in “a labyrinth of corridors”, and found themselves in a room where there was a large glass case containing small humanoid bodies. The father was instantly grabbed by several men and forced to sign papers before being allowed to leave. The son told this story to Sherm Larsen of the Center for UFO Studies in about 1974. Stringfield, Situation Red, p.190.

Points to consider:

Sherman J. Larsen, was the director of the Center for UFO Studies in Glenview in the 1970's.

The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago.

The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, opened in 1920. On their website at www.msichicago.org I tried to check whether they would have some exhibit of humanoid-looking animals or perhaps small mummies that could have been mistaken for "humanoids", but it did not look so.

But on visitors videos taken in the Museum and published on Youtube, I found that the Museum exhibits foetuses in glass jars and behind glasses, as in the images below.

So, I imagined this scenario: when the son and father visited the museum, being lost, they entered some non-public facility of the museum in which they stumbled on a box containing, instead of alien bodies, such foetuses stored before exhibition. The father was grabbed by Museum security personal and taken in some museum office for interrogation. This would just be the normal reaction of museum security personal to people entering non-public rooms of the museum.

But I have some hard times convincing myself, because I cannot figure out why the father would have kept this a secret until death bead. It would only have been a funny anecdote, I think. So the other possibility would be that the person Larsen heard just invented all this. Of course, I cannot rule out entirely it was aliens, as I have no opposite proof.
