SOBEPS gives this information:
On November 29, 1989, Mr. H. was on the road between Thimister and the junction of the E40, just before the junction, and between 05:30 p.m. and 05:45 p.m., he observed three bright luminous spots arranged in an isosceles triangle with a central pulsating red light.
He also noted that the red light did not extinguish completely.
The distance was estimated as 1.5 km and the height as 400 or 500 meters, but the three white lights were very bright.
The object came from the East "slipping, without turning," to the south.

This is one of the poorest report for this evening in this area. Note the large distance, the lack of position, duration, angular size, angular displacement etc... This obviously allows all kinds of possible explanations, such as a plane or a helicopter.
