ALSACAT:

As its name suggests, ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Observation of UFO in WITTELSHEIM (68) March 2017

Added March 17, 2017

TOTAL FREAK-OUT! During a session of metal detection at * Caesar's Camp * it fell on us ,we didnt understand immediatly , NO FAKE !

Above:

Two images from the video.

Discussion:

The video is extremely shaky, as if the person did not know the camera was recording. It is quite liekly that the "UFOs" are Chinese lanterns.

In 58 BC, Caesar had decided to stop the invasion of the Germans, and it was thought that a battle had taken place. The opinion most generally accepted for the site of this battle is that it would have been between Cernay and Wittelsheim. This is what is evoked here by "Caesar's Camp" here.

Evaluation:

>Probable Chinese lanterns.
