ALSACAT-2015-04-14-KRAUTERGERSHEIM-1
On April 18, 2015, "ll56", 59, male social worker, wrote to the ufology forum UFO "Les Mystères des OVNIS" that he saw on April 14, 2015, at 10:30 p.m., a white ball of light in Krautergersheim in the Bas-Rhin.
He said that in the clear sky, the ball; which had the brightness and size of Venus, was going from West to East, without noise or flicker. It was "relatively high" and moved in a straight line with three decelerations and accelerations, and made a turn to the south to quickly disappeared by taking altitude. The observation duration was one minute.
The witness initially thought that this could have been the International Space Station but he says it does not follow this path and disappears "on the horizon".
He then gave a trajectory West 80 ° to South-East 90 °, said that the movement was controlled and independent of the wind, and that there is the presence of the Fessenheim nuclear power plant.
He added later on the forum that he now recognizes the International Space Station because he saw it the next day and the ball he saw was not that because of the slowdowns and accelerations and the turn.

The witness indicated as nearby facility the Fessenheim nuclear power plant. Before one comes to the conclusion that this is nuclear power plant flyover by a UFO, please note that Fessenheim is located 62 kilometers away from Krautergersheim. That it to say the "proximity" is very relative and if observations at such a distance from a nuclear plant should be considered overflights of nuclear power plant, at least half of the observations in Alsace would be just that.
The strip of the Strasbourg - Entzheim airport is just about 7 km northeast from Krautergersheim. The witness could have seen an airliner landing approach with landing headlights on; the direction taken by the ball would match. The plane could have been put on standby by air traffic control, or perhaps it was taking off. A jet fighter or a helicopter cannot be excluded either.
