The "National UFO Reporting Center" (NUFORC) is a US Website by Peter Davenport where people can report UFO sightings.
On October 30, 2009, someone reported a sighting on behalf of a veteran who had told about it.
The text part said that the witness was in the 8th US Army Air Force during World War II, on a plane on a bombing mission in the early hours of the Normandy landings. The target was a railroad depot where the Germans used that railroad to bring men and material up to the Atlantic wall. The witness told that after all these years he lost the coordinates of this target.
He reported that about 10 minutes after they crossed the coast, he heard one of the escort planes over the radio alert about enemies at 6 o'clock high and low.
After hearing this, the witness checked his weapon on the right side of his bomber, looking inside of their formation. He adds that before they left on the raid he had checked and rechecked his weapon.
One of "the objects" appeared in between their formation and him, and when he prepared his weapon, it jammed. When he checked the cause of the jam, the weapon "appeared normal." About 15 minutes after the object appeared, it disappeared, and the weapon had cleared.
The witness adds that it "was the strangest thing ever because we also had radio loss and our number four engine had stalled out."
In the tabular part of the report form, we read that it occurred on June 6, 1944 at 01:00 local time, that the shape seen was a "Cigar", with "lights on the object", the duration was "15-20 min", the number of observers was 10.

I was part of the 8th Air force during world war two. We where on a bombing mission in the early hours of the Normandy landings our target was a railroad depot where the Germans used that railroad to bring men and material up to the Atlantic wall so being that reinforcements could be brought up and to cut supply lines it was a target. After all these years I've lost the coordinates of our target. About 10 minutes after we crossed the coast. I heard one of our escorts over the radio call out "bandits 6"o'clock high and low."
Now, after I heard this, I went to cock my weapon I was the right side waist gunner looking inside of our formation before we left on our raid i and check and recheck my weapon. One of the objects appeared in between our formation and my I went to cock my weapon and it jammed i tried my best to check the jam. It appeared normal. About fifteen minutes after it appeared, it disappeared and my weapon had cleared. It was the strangest thing ever because we also had radio loss and our number four engine had stalled out.
I am writing this on behalf of a vet who i heard this story from.

The bomb raids of the 8th Army Air Force on Normandy during D-Day were carried out with twin-engine Martin B-26 "Marauder" bombers (therefore excluded since four engines are mentioned), four-engine Consolidated B-24 "Liberators", and four-engine Boeing B-17 "Flying Fortresses."

Obviously, the report is only a Web report form, filled by a third party; hence, the credibility is unknown.
It is also quite annoying that the description of the "object" is quite vague. A "cigar" object, with lights on it, may have been an enemy plane, as announced by the escort plane.
Also, we are told of 10 observers, but no context information is explaining how the witness knew that other witnesses experienced this.
The machine gun jam, the engine failure and the radio disturbance may have been coincidental.
I am not excluding that this could have been an incident involving an extraterrestrial craft; I am only excluding that this is factual.
