Winter 1954 1955, 1954, Evillers, Doubs:

Summary:

Jean Tyrode was a teacher at Evillers in the Doubs in the 1950s; he said he himself had witnessed a dozen or so UFO observations in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. He became passionate about the matter and conducted numerous field investigations in the Doubs department: which he communicated to the ufology magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit.

One of the first observations he reported was described in this magazine in 1969:

During the winter of 1954-1955, around "7 o'clock", from his school window, he saw "quite high" in the sky a red luminous trail.

He watched it, and saw a light, suddenly motionless, in the direction of Amathay farther north.

After a few seconds, it took on a variety of hues: red, blue, yellow, green, purple, and it let suddenly, moving away quickly.

After "it stopped", it changed its trajectory significantly, it was roughly South-West to North-East and changed to West to East.

[Ref. fle11:] FERNAND LAGARDE AND JEAN TYRODE:

Scan.

Fernand Lagarde lists observations made by Jean Tyrode, who became a ufologist, in the area of Evillers in the Doubs, including:

2° WINTER 1954-1955, around 7 o'clock.

From his window (see school), quite high in the sky, Mr. TYRODE perceived a red luminous trail. Fixing his gaze, he saw a light, suddenly becoming motionless, in the direction of Amathay, further north.

After a few seconds, it took different hues, red, blue, yellow, green, purple. It then left suddenly and went away quickly (see B of the map). After it stopped, it changed direction. Its trajectory approximately SW-NE then became W-E.

Explanations:

Map.

Unidentified.

In French "skeptical" ufologist circles, I often heard the comment that the problem with Jean Tyrode's personal observations - and his numerous investigations reports - is their suspicious high number.
