End August or Beg. September, 1954, Lurcy-LÚvis, Allier:

Reference number for this case: EndAug-BegSept-54-LurcisLÚvis. Thank you for including this reference number in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

According to two ufological catalogs of the 1970s, the newspaper Centre-Matin for September 3, 1954, had indicated that - in the days which preceded, probably - at 9 o'clock, a Mr. Petitjean, employee of the EDF national power company who was working on a power line near Lurcy-LÚvis with his comrades, observed a craft in the shape of an upside-down plate that was moving rapidly in the sky at a rather low altitude.

September - before the 3 (Centre Matin for 9/3) Lurcy LÚvis.

A few days before September 3, Mr. Petitjean, from the EDF, and his comrades observe a craft, upside down plate shaped, moving at low altitude.

09/.../1954 Lurcy LÚvy [sic] (9 o'clock).

A few days before 09/03/1954, Mr. Petitjean, E.D.F. employee who was working on a line near Lurcy LÚvy with his comrades was able to observe a craft in the shape of a plate turned upside down that moved fast in the sky at a rather low altitude. (Centre matin for 09/03/1954).

The report is of course too meager for a solid evaluation; but this might have been a plane or helcopter or even a meteor.
