Beg. December 1954, Vicq-Exemplet-en-Berry, Indre:

Reference number for this case: 0-Dec-54-Vicq-Exemplet-en-Berry. Thank you for including this reference number in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

Summary:

The regional newspaper "L'Echo of Berry", of La Châtre, France, on page 2, had reported on December 10, 1954 that a doctor "worthy of faith" of the area had collected the testimony of three of his customers, farmers in Vicq-Exemplet-en-Berry.

As they crossed the wood of Mouillère, returning by night by bicycle, they had been stopped and as paralyzed in the side by "the maneuvers of a very close saucer matching the usual description."

One of the farmers who hitherto was rather skeptical and "sincerely hoped to be in the presence of such a machine, had his share of it and returned home, it is said, extremely moved."

This newspaper article was discovered by author Jean Sider who published it in the ufology magazine "Lumières Dans La Nuit" and his book on the 1954 French flap in the years 1990's. Only this Press source seems to exist, the witnesses not being named by the newspaper, the exact date and the hour were not specified and the "saucer" was hardly described.

Reports:

[Ref. eb1] "L'ECHO DU BERRY" NEWSPAPER:

One of our compatriots, a doctor worthy of faith, collected the testimony of three of his customers of Vic-Exemplet-en-Berry. Whereas they were crossing the wood of Mouillère, these three farmers returning by night on bicycles were stopped and like paralyzed in the side by the very close evolutions of a saucer corresponding to the usual descriptions. One of them, who hitherto was rather skeptic and sincerely hoped to be confronted to the presence of such a machine, had its share and returned home extremely moved, it is said.

[Ref. js1] JEAN SIDER:

Jean Sider discovered in the newspaper L'Echo du Berry for December 10, 1954, that three farmers who remained anonymous testified that at the beginning of December 1954, driving on their bicycles in Vic-Exemplet-in-Berry, Châtre in the department of Indre, they were stopped and as paralyzed "in the side" (the wording is from the newspaper) by the very close manoeuvers of a flying saucer.

[Ref. lc1:] LUC CHASTAN:

Luc Chastan indicates that in the Indre in Vic-Exemplet in December 1954 at an unknown hour, three witnesses returned by night, at the beginning of the month, on bicycle. They crossed the wood of Mouillères when they were stopped and as paralyzed by the very close evolutions of an object in the shape of a saucer.

The source is indicated as "Lumières dans la Nuit".

Explanations:

Here is a case which taken at face value is very interesting; but unfortunately there is only little of information given, and a lack of investigation; which leaves me with an "unidentified" case but of unknown credibility.
