The regional newspaper L'Est Républicain for February 15, 1954, page 5, reported an observation in Perrouse, in the Haute-Saone, having taken place "one of these last evening", at 10:20 p.m.:

Two people from Voray-sur-l'Ognon in the Haute-Saône, Dr. Chapuis and Mr. Thierry Jr., garage mechanic, were driving between Perrouse and Buthiers, when they suddenly saw in the sky a bright glow of elongated, cigar-like shape, moving at high speed and at high altitude, in a north-south direction.

It had lasted about fifteen seconds.

Voray-sur-l'Ognon. -- One of last these evenings, at 10:20 p.m., two residents of Voray-sur-l'Ognon (the Haute-Saône), Dr. Chapuis and Mr. Thierry Jr., car repairman, were traveling by car between Perrouse and Buthiers, when they saw suddenly in the sky, a bright elongated light, like a cigar, which was moving at a high speed and high altitude, in the north-south direction. This strange appearance lasted about fifteen seconds.
