This case was first reported in the 1958 book by ufologist Aimé Michel, which indicates that newspapers, including Le Parisien Libéré for October 11, 1954, reported that on October 9, 1954, in Loudéac in Brittany, "many residents of Loudéac, among whom Mrs. Videlot, Macé, Huby and Kergoat, saw, moving at a fairly high altitude, a luminous ball which after remaining visible for about twenty minutes, disappeared in the clouds."
In 1979, ufologists Michel Figuet and Jean-Louis Ruchon only indicated that on October 8, 1954, in Loudéac in the Côtes-d'Armor, there was an observation of a luminous ball, according to the newspaper La Montagne in October 1954.

The two authors indicate that on October 8, 1954, in Loudéac in the department of Côtes-d'Armor, there was an observation of a luminous ball.
The authors indicate that the source is La Montagne in octobre 1954.

Luc Chastan indicates that in the Côtes d'Armor in Loudéac on October 8, 1954 at an unknown hour, there was an "Observation of a luminous ball. at a quite high altitude. The object remained visible during 20 minutes before disappearing in the clouds."

The date is uncertain, Figuet and Ruchon do not provide the exact publication date of their source, the hour is not know, so it is impossible to know what this was.
Of course, as it lasted 20 minutes before being hidden in the clouds, it might have been the moon, for example.
