The newspaper L'Union of Reims reported on September 8, 1954, that a new luminous phenomenon was reportedly observed on "Monday," therefore on September 6, 1954, around 9 p.m., by residents of the Haut des Tufs neighborhood in Creil.
There was said to have been "a sort of luminous trail, otherwise inexplicable like all the 'heteroclite' objects that people claim to have seen for the past eight days in the sky over the Ile-de-France."
The newspaper commented: "What is it? No one in the world can give a name or an explanation for such phenomena. Let us therefore, for lack of anything better, merely record once again the statements of eyewitnesses - of flying saucers, luminous rockets, winged plates or dishes, and of an entire celestial crockery which may, perhaps, in the end, be nothing more than an aerolithic manifestation."

CREIL. -- A new luminous phenomenon was reportedly observed on Monday, around 9 p.m., by residents of the Haut des Tufs neighborhood. There was, it seems, a sort of luminous trail, otherwise inexplicable like all the "heteroclite" objects that people claim to have seen for the past eight days in the sky over the Ile-de-France.
What is it? No one in the world can give a name or an explanation for such phenomena. Let us therefore, for lack of anything better, once again merely record the statements of eyewitnesses - of flying saucers, luminous rockets, winged plates or dishes, and of an entire celestial crockery which may, perhaps, in the end, be nothing more than an aerolithic manifestation.
