The regional newspaper La Vendée Libre for October 10, 1954, reported that "Wednesday evening" so on October 6, 1954, around 7 p.m., in La Ferrière, "three pupils of our public school and some inhabitants of the borough stated to have observed a flying saucer moving towards the west, at reduced speed. Their attention had been drawn to the sky by the passin of a jet plane. A little later, an oval machine appeared; which moved without noise. The whitish mass had a blue reflection at the front and a kind of red light at the back. The witnesses claim that there cannot be any confusion between this machine and a jet plane."

Their attention had been drawn in the sky by the passage of a jet plane. A little later an oval craft appeared, which moved without noise. The whitish mass had a blue reflection with front and a kind of red light at the back. The witnesses claim that there cannot be any confusion between this machine and a jet plane.
