October 2, 1954, Vichy, Allier:

Reference for this case: 2-Oct-54-Vichy.

In 1958, Aimé Michel just mentioned an observation on October 2, 1954, in Vichy that he considered aligned with others of this date, in a manner he thought to be inexplicable by chance alone.

The ufology magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit #128 of October 1973 told a little more. Based on the newspaper La Montagne for October 4, 1954, it indicated that travelers on the bus of Bellerive had seen on October 2, 1954, in Vichy, a luminous object cross the sky quickly in the direction of the Saint-Amand hill.

In 1979, the ufologists Michel Figuet and Jean-Louis Ruchon added that it had happened at 06:30 p.m. and that the bus was going from Bellerive to Vichy.

This ufology bulletin indicated that there was a case on October 2, 1954, in Vichy; which was a part of a "network" of aligned cases of that day, in their opinion.

In this ufology bulletin, Alain Barbe published a map with cases (but not all the 61 cases or more) for October 2, 1954, including that of Vichy, which he, like Aimé Michel did, thooght to often be "aligned" beyond mere chance:

October 2 (La Montagne for 10/04) Vichy.

Travelers on the Bellerive bus saw a luminous object pass quickly across the sky towards the Saint-Amand hill.

The two authors indicate that in Vichy in the department of the Allier, on October 2, 1954, at 06:30 p.m., the passengers of a bus going from Vichy to Bellerive observed a luminous machine crossing the sky quickly in the direction of Côte Saint-Amand.

Belgian ufologist Godelieve van Overmeire notes in her catalogue that in France, in 1954, October 2 in Vichy, towards 6:30 p.m., travellers of the Vichy-Bellerive bus observe a luminous craft quickly crossing the sky in direction of the Coast St Amand.

The source is indicated as M. Figuet / J.L. Ruchon in "Ovni, Premier dossier complet..." Alain Lefeuvre pub. 1979, p. 107.

The website indicates that on 2 October 1954 at 10:00 in Vichy, France, "an unidentified object was sighted, but with appearance and behavior that most likely would have a conventional explanation. One object was observed in a stadium."

The website adds: "At 10 o'clock in the morning several people in the city of Clermont-Ferrand, Puy-de-Dome, France saw a luminous, metallic object oscillating in the sky, then fly off rapidly to the north-northwest."

And: "In Vichy, Allier, France at 6:30 p.m., bus passengers observed a luminous object rapidly traverse the sky flying in the direction of Cote St.-Amand."
