Summary:

The regional newspaper Le Provençal for November 4, 1954, reported on page 12, via their press correspondent in Pertuis, that around 06:15 p.m., "the day before yesterday" - which would be November 2, 1954 - a luminous craft crossed the sky from Pertuis going in the "South-West-North" direction. Among the witnesses was Mr. Tassy, ??a brigadier and chief of police, who told the newspaper that the apparatus had the shape and size of a bottle of butane gas and was moving according to his estimates at less than a thousand meters above sea level.

Mr. Tassy's testimony was entirely confirmed by that of his colleague Mr. Basset.

On the road to Villelaure, people going to Pertuis saw the same phenomenon at the same time.

Luminous, almost white, letting out multicolored sparks in its trail, like springing from a grinding wheel, the "craft" moved at a very high speed. The witnesses had seen it for 5 to 8 seconds at the most.

Pertuis (C.P.).
Around 06:15 p.m., the day before yesterday in the evening, a luminous machine crossed the sky of Perthuis in the direction South-West-North. Of the reported testimonys, let's retain that of Mr. Tassy, sergeant chief of the services of the police force, who claimed to us that the machine had the shape and the size of a butane gas bottle and that it evolved, according to his estimates, at less than a thousand of meters of altitude. Luminous almost white, letting escape a trail of multicoloured sparks, like spouting of a grindstone, the machine moved at a very high speed. The witnesses saw it during the space from 5 to 8 seconds to the maximum. The testimony of Mr. Tassy is confirmed in all points by that of Mr. Basset, his collaborator.

On the road of Villelaure, people going to Perthuis, at the same hour, noted the same phenomenon.
