BREST. -- Several inhabitants of the borough of Lanarvily had their attention drawn, last night, by a gleam caused by a red ball; which moved in the sky. A few days ago, other inhabitants of Lanarvily had seen in the sky an identical red ball, which trailed behind itself a luminous tail.

Luc Chastan indicates that in the Finistère in Lanarvily on October 28, 1954 at an unknown hour, "Several inhabitants of the borough of Lanarvily had their attention drawn, at night, by a gleam caused by a red ball which moved in the sky."

    Lanarvily is at about 20 kilometers Northwest of Brest.

    Explanations:

    The moon having set at 06:30 p.m. before that night, one would rather think of a meteor. But the report is so poor that this is only one "possible" explanation among others.
