Summary:

In the 3rd quarter of 1978, in the Ouranos ufology magazine #24, Jacques Coudert reported without great detail his own observation.

He indicated that on September 24, 1954, at 9:30 p.m. in the South / South-West of Civray, he had seen, going from East to West, a big flaming red disk, with a purple-green dome.

He gave this sketch:

[Ref. ud1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

The website indicates that on 24 September 1954 at 21:30 in the southsouthwest of Civray, France, "Large 40-50m diameter domed disc, bright red with orange glow and blue-violet colored dome."

And: "A flying disc was observed. One red domed disc, about 150 feet across, was observed (Coudert)."

The sources are indicated as Delval, Pierre, Ouranos, Commission d'Etude "Ouranos", Bohain.

Explanations:

Obviously the witness Jacques Coudert got the vocation of ufologist following his observation. Unfortunately the details are really meager, and the reliability of the sketch is not obvious.

If it is reliable, it is an extraterrestrial craft. If it is not, it may have been a meteor...
