In his 1997 book on the 1954 French wave, the French ufologist Jean Sider indicated that he found a previously unpublished case in the newspaper Dimanche-Eclair of Nancy on page 5 for October 24, 1954:
Martial Henrion, aged 23, resident of Quincy-sur-Loison, said that one of latest evening at about 10:30 p.m., while returning from his work driving his motorcycle, he was suddenly surrounded sparks, and at once saw at a hundred meters in front of him in the fields a sheaf of fire, blue in its center, which rose suddenly towards the sky.
Very frightened, he immediately returned at his home. The newspaper specifies that this occurred in the locality Les Buttes de Chaumont, not far from the crossroads of the roads from Quincy, Vigneulles and Juvisy, and that a natural origin seems unexplainable at this place.

Luc Chastan indique que dans la Meuse at Quincy Landzécourt on October 21, 1954, at 22:30 "The witness returned from his work by motorcycle, he was suddenly surrounded of sparks, and at once saw at a hundred meters in front of him in the fields a sheaf of fire, blue in its center, which rose suddenly towards the sky. Very frightened, he immediately returned home. The observation occurred in the locality Les Buttes de Chaumont not far from the crossroads of the roads from Quincy, Vigneulles and Juvisy."
