"The public rumor tells us that a flying cigar was observed at the station of GIRANCOURT, Thursday morning at 8:30. A tradesman of CHAUMOUSSEY made his round and leaving the station's coffee shop arrived at the first house of ADONCOURT when a female customer shouted to him: "Look over there!" He then noticed in the sky towards HENNECOURT and at a low altitude under the low ceiling of the clouds, an object appearing cylindrical in vertical position. The object was motionless or swiveling on itself. It appeared to have several colors, red, yellow, blue, orange like gleaming. Then suddenly it slipped by towards DOMPAIRE without any noise. At the station of GIRANCOURT tens of people saw it, the mailman and soldiers in parking".
