The newspaper Le Berry Républicain for October 2, 1954, reported that the day before around 8:30 p.m., Emilien Etave, a sawyer in Lignières, was returning from his field on the road to La Celle, when his attention was drawn to a glow in the sky. He was able to observe the phenomenon for nearly a quarter of an hour without being able to specify where this light came from, passing across the sky, quite far away according to him, in the direction of the road to Issoudun.
