1954, Liomer, Somme:

Reference number for this case: 54-Liomer. Thank you for including this reference number in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

Summary:

On April 7, 2013, a 64-year-old man, giving his last name, first name, address, wrote to me by email to inform me of his observation in 1954 or around 1954:

He was then 6 or 7, and with his father, they drove in a CitroŽn Traction Avant car from Amiens to Liomer in the Somme department. On the road, very late at night, between Hornoy and Liomer, they had found themselves lit by an intense white light coming from above the car.

His father told him that there are Englishmen behind, since the light was white like the English car headlights while the headlights of the French cars of that time were yellow.

But the son replied that there was no car behind. The light followed them, the father stopped the car, they were frightened.

Once the car stopped, the light disappeared. Seconds later, they looked at the sky, and then saw an olive-shaped red light; which disappeared, without any noise.

My correspondent remembers that according to his parents, there had been articles in the newspaper Le Courrier Picard. His father had made no statement about the sighting. Her mother, who is still alive, remembers his excitement telling this story.

On December 1, 2016, my correspondent wrote to me again by email, reporting the same observation, stating that his father was a travelling salesman, and that Le Courier Picard had published identical testimonies, declared to the Gendarmerie; which reassured them because nobody believed them at that time.

I'm 64, in 1954 I was 6-7 years old, with my father we went by car (Citroen Traction) from Amiens to Liomer in the somme, and on the road late at night between Hornoy and Liomer we found ourselves exposed to an intense white light above the car, My father told me there are English people behind us because of the white headlights (Ps ours are yellow at that time) I replied there are no car behind, the light is following us, my father stopped the car, we had fears of what happens, once stopped the light disappears after a few seconds we look at the sky, we saw a red light, olive-shaped and disappear, (there was no sound) I remember according to my parents, there were articles in the courrier Picard, my mother who is still there, remembers my excitement when i told this story. If it can push research. (My father did not make a statement)
