The 1954 French flap:

1954, La Chapelle-en-Serval, Oise:

Reference number for this case: 54-La-Chapelle-en-Serval. Thank you for including this reference number in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

In the regional newspaper L'Oise-Matin on page 10 for October 20, 1954, there was a mention that "flying saucers" were seen in La-Chapelle-en-Serval.

The same mention is found on the website of the national newspaper Le Parisien on August 8, 2008.

The case in La Chapelle en Serval is mentioned in an article of the newspaper L'Oise-Matin about the case in Saint-Samson-la-Poterie:

at St-Samson-la-Poterie

After the paralyzed worker of Quarouble, the affectionate Martian of the Auvergne, the flying saucers of Chapelle-en-Serval, the mysterious landing of St-Crepin-Ibouvillers, not to mention the hundreds of strange demonstrations of diabolic crockery, [...]

[Ref. pgs1:] EMAIL I RECEIVED:

A veteran ufologist informs me that the exact name of the city is not "Chapelle-en-Serval" as I indicated but La Chapelle-en-Serval.

Ufo invasion

As in many countries and French regions, the year 1954 was rich in observations of UFOs and other strange phenomena in the Oise. It is believed that visitors to the area were particularly pleased with the department, from Crépy-en-Valois to La Chapelle-en-Serval, via Saint-Samson, Ressons-sur-Matz, Senlis or Formerie, witnesses swore they saw saucers, flying cigars and other mini-extraterrestrials helmed with an orange beam! Press clippings and gendarmerie investigations evoke these episodes, none of which, alas, brought tangible evidence.

The case has no date, but if this was on August 30, 1954, like other cases in the Oise, it was then probably the meteor seen in the area on that date. The [ubk1] source is given here as clue that supports my assumption.
