October 10, 1954, Dax, Landes:

Reference number for this case: 10-Oct-54-Dax. Thank you for including this reference number in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

Reports:

[Ref. bb1:] GERARD BARTHEL AND JACQUES BRUCKER:

The authors indicate that on October 11, 1954 the "Sud-Ouest" newspaper reported this observation of the day before, which is to them an example that the reported shapes were whimsical:

"A hunter in company of a comrade saw at rifle range a machine in the shape of a grand piano. On the top two glazed cupolas let filter verdigris gleams, on the sides, port-holes through which yellow rays filtered. At the back two kinds of exhaust pipes. The craft was motionless within 50 meters of them after a fulgurating descent, then made some circles and went away again vertically."

Explanations:

Not looked for yet. Possible hoax, possible helicopter.
