Summary:

In 1982, the ufology group ADRUP, of Dijon, published a catalog of all flying saucer sighting reports published in the daily newspaper of Dijon Le Bien Public.

An article dated November 15, 1954 of this journal is reproduced, indicating that in the night "of one of these last days, at about 2 o'clock in the morning, a farmer from Braux, Mr. Lucien Badin, having gone out to cure a cow saw in the sky a luminous disk 3 or 4 meters in diameter, which remained motionless for 3 or 4 seconds, then accelerated, passed at a low altitude and an extraordinary speed, above Braux, towards the north, illuminating the whole village in a sharp pink gleam. The witness, frightened, instinctively lowered his head." The newspaper added that "this witness is trustworthy."

I found an article the regional newspaper La Bourgogne Républicaine, of Dijon too, on page 5 for November 16, 1954, reporting exactly the same information.

Flying saucer
on Braux (Côte-d'Or)?

Braux(from our Correspondent.). -- In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, around 2 a.m., a farmer from Braux, Mr. Lucien Badin, having got up to take care of a cow, saw in the sky a luminous disc 3 or 4 meters in diameter.

This disc remained motionless for three or four seconds, then disappeared at an extraordinary speed in a northerly direction, suddenly lighting up the whole village. The witness instinctively lowered his head...

Let us add that this person is trustworthy.

WHY 1954?

The French flap of 1954 is today more than controversial.

Thus, A.D.R.U.P. wanted to make a compilation of all the documents published in a Burgundy daily newspaper:

"Le Bien Public".

The interest of this catalogue is triple:
